Finally! No more runarounds.

Some of you may remember a few years ago Ian went to an allergist because his seasonal allergies were pretty bad. After that we were given a regimen of two shots a week and then it went down to once a week and now it is once every other week. Well, before his last allergist appointment we were taking Ian to a local pediatric office, but because of the ineptitude of the doctors (not the staff, the doctors) we decided that Ian would be better served at another peds office. Since he wasn't a patient at the office anymore (even though they saw him up until recently) they would not administer the shots. I thought, okay I'll talk him to another office because giving him an allergy shot is not a big deal. He just needs someone with an epi pen in case he has a reaction. I could do that, but because of liability the allergist couldn't sign off on that. Anyhow, I called around and no one wouldn't just see him and then say okay you can have his allergy shots here. The allergist assured me that most medical offices would do that. Well, not in our town. (I could get on another soapbox, but I'll spare you.) I was at my wits end because I already had this vial paid for and no way to administer it to my son. No office here would do it and the offices up in the Shoals closed before I could get him to an office to have the injection. I think I have finally found a solution to my woes...Med-Plus. They stay open until after Ian's swim team is done and it is on the way home. They said I only needed to bring the vials in with the necessary paperwork (charts from doc). Plus from the sound of it, it should actually be a lot cheaper than taking Ian to the pediatric office. Again, we'll see.
